Postdoctoral Researcher in Geometric Analysis

The Department of Mathematics at Stockholm University consists of 38 permanent staff members, distributed across three divisions: mathematics, mathematical statistics, and computational mathematics.

The mathematics division conducts research in various branches of mathematics, such as algebraic geometry and algebraic topology, complex analysis, logic, mathematical physics, operator theory, partial differential equations, representation theory, and number theory.

Project Description

The position is funded by Oliver Petersen's research grant from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. We are seeking candidates working in geometric analysis, particularly those engaged in mathematical general relativity and/or microlocal analysis.

Responsibilities

The main responsibility is research. The position also includes a small amount of teaching, which may involve supervising students.

Eligibility Requirements

A postdoctoral researcher is defined as an employee primarily hired for research who has obtained a doctoral degree or has a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree.

Assessment Criteria

The degree must have been obtained no later than when the employment decision is made, but no more than three years before the application deadline. If there are special reasons, the doctoral degree may have been obtained earlier. Special reasons include leave due to illness, parental leave, union duties, service in total defense, or other similar circumstances, as well as clinical service or relevant service/assignments in the subject area.

When filling the position, particular emphasis will be placed on scientific competence in the areas mentioned above.

About the Position

The position is full-time and is permanent, but lasts at least two years and at most three years, with the possibility of extension if there are special reasons. Start date is 2025-09-01 or by agreement.
